Sidehustlers have been reported to make approximately £200- £400 monthly. These figures are evidence that the most reliable side hustle as of 2026 is Vinted reselling. Despite many people profiting it is known that a large fraction of individuals have failed to make profit or have not made a lot of money. This is primarily due to lack of experience and knowledge of the second hand market. Vinted’s success has also brought opportunities for people to make additional income by reselling products. With knowledge of the second-hand market and effective pricing strategies, dedicated resellers can make substantial profits.
Despite the fact that many people earn a profit from reselling, there are still many users who do not make a lot of money. This is primarily due to a lack of experience, knowledge of the market and understanding of consumer demand.
From my experience the market is primarily influenced by season as well as social media trends. With influencers flashing designer clothing people are trying to catch these items on Vinted. Vinted sales are also impacted by the rise in sustainable clothing. Many people prefer to buy secondhand clothing as it provides comfort that clothes are not going to waste. It has also been seen as a cheaper alternative to buying directly from retailers. Retailers are putting prices to the highest it has ever been before and families and individuals are noticing that they can buy the same items in a good condition just second hand.
But, Vinted’s success is not only due to consumer behavior, it is also due to its business model. The site allows buyers and sellers to easily connect, making it a great marketplace for users to find a wide range of products. This has enabled Vinted to build a loyal customer base and rival the likes of eBay and Depop.
In general, Vinted shows that opportunities in today’s markets can be created as a result of changing economic conditions, consumer preferences, and good business strategy. Not everyone will make a lot of money by reselling, but the platform has opened a new avenue for people to earn money and help the circular economy.
